Once again, the world has been treated to a hugely exciting Formula One Grand Prix in Bahrain. As the opening round of the 2022 Formula 1 World Championship, this race was being closely followed by passionate motoring fans around the world.
Ferrari eventually scored a remarkable victory, taking first and second place – for Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz – in what proved to be a hugely competitive final race, which produced a lot of surprises and dramatic twists.
This dominant performance puts Ferrari in a strong position for commanding the remainder of the World Championship competition.
The race proved to be disastrous for Red Bull, after world champion Max Verstappen was a dominant figure in early segments of the race before being forced out with a loss of power later on.
Then Red Bull’s Sergio Perez lost out on third place in the final lap Lewis Hamilton, driving for Mercedes. The race also produced disappointing performances for McLaren’s Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo.
Other dramatic moments included Haas’s Mick Schumacher coming into contact with Alpine’s Esteban Ocon and being sent into a spin, as well as Pierre Gasly’s vehicle overheating and catching fire later in the race.
However, the principal drama resulted from the fierce competition throughout a significant part of the race between Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, making this a truly unforgettable race.
In addition to this, spectators were treated to spectacular fireworks, and as always, the stunning display of racing under the Bahrain International Circuit’s unique night-time light display.
As always, the true winner from this competition was Bahrain itself, which once again had the opportunity to showcase the kingdom in all its glory and all the sights, sounds and tastes that the Bahrain experience has to offer.
It was once again a great year for Bahrain’s businesses and the entertainment and hospitality sectors after the past two difficult years under Covid regulations. Bahrain has again demonstrated that it knows exactly how to keep the world entertained.
